Our mine is located in the Jundah region southwest Queensland, Australia. We also like to support our fellow Boulder Opal miners & source opals we know you will love directly from them.
Traceability is important to us, we like our customers to know what area in Queensland, Australia their opal has come from.
If the origin is Jundah then this is an opal from our mine.
No. We do not sell any of the above. All of our opals are natural, solid Australian Boulder Opals.
If you would like to learn more about what doublets, triplets, treated or synthetic opals are, refer to our Educational tab.
- Our design style is ‘Simple But Significant’ we are all about letting the opal take centre stage & shine
- Our jewellery line is designed by us & brought to life by qualified, entrusted jewellers
- We only work with solid gold, rose gold & sterling silver
- Our silver pieces are made from solid sterling silver. To ensure less tarnishing our silver pieces are also rhodium plated
- What is rhodium plating; Rhodium plating is used over solid sterling silver to help lesson tarnishing, ensure the ring is more scratch resistant & help the silver retain it lustre
- What is rhodium; Rhodium is a rare and precious metal, rarer than gold or platinum.
- However, like with most jewellery we suggest taking it off when showering/washing your hands/swimming etc. Overtime grim/dust etc can build up in between the opal & the setting, this could result in the setting loosening from the opal
- On Moh's gemstone hardness scale opal is 5.5-6.5 out of 10. This is softer than diamonds, emeralds, rubies but harder than pearls. Rough wear & tear can lead to scratching on your opals surface or in extreme circumstances chipping or breakage if dropped onto a hard surface.
- Storing your opal; never place your opals face down as you could cause light scratches over the opals face which will dull the high quality polish/finish
- Our suggestion is just like with any item of value & importance treat the opal with care so your one of a kind, millions of years old opal will continue to last for many more life times.
- Cleaning; a jewellery cloth to clean the silver/gold & wipe any fingerprints/marks off the opal. You may also use a damp cloth to wipe over the opals surface
- Storing your opal; never place your opals face down as you could cause light scratches over the opals face which will dull the high quality polish/finish.
