We mine in the Jundah region, Southwest Queensland Australia. Queensland Opal mines are some of the most remote opal mines in Australia & require a camp set up (home away from home) & living in a completely self-sufficient manner whilst away (no running water, electricity, phone or internet)

We are off the grid, back to basics living!

For any other needs (machinery parts for repairs, all maintenance supplies, groceries etc) we have an 8 hour round trip into the town of Longreach.

The other months are spent back home in Townsville (11 ½ hours away from our mine) in the workshop processing down our rough & then cutting/polishing all the beautiful opals, also in the home office designing our jewellery & preparing our opals for sale & packing/shipping all of our opals that have sold.

Once the opal has been mined, we take the ironstone/sandstone boulders from their original state in the ground and start the journey of processing down the rough material through precision sawing, cutting, shaping and polishing, all done by hand & using a variety of machinery to get the perfect, professional finish.
